The Senior Technician serves as a Financial Lines Senior Operations Technician, specializing in a specific product line and providing comprehensive support to the broking team.

Collaborating closely with their manager and colleagues, the Senior Technician manages the administration and support processes related to clients' insurance requirements. This role ensures compliance with Group policy, achieves targets, develops the business, and delivers exceptional service.

Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining data for clients and risks, processing all new business, renewals, mid-term adjustments, and producing all necessary documentation. The Senior Technician also participates in system testing, provides training, monitors data integrity, engages in project work, and acts as a technical referral point for complex debiting and related issues. Additionally, they coordinate all documentation related to London Market Premium and Policy processing, liaising with relevant parties as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with senior team members to set key priorities, manage workload, and assist less experienced staff, ensuring personal and team objectives are met.
  • Manages assigned projects and contributes to additional projects as needed.
  • Provides relevant management information to the management team as required.
  • Ensures timely client invoicing and tracks policy changes, especially those related to invoicing.
  • Investigates and recommends best methods for non-routine processing, including system workarounds, liaising with line manager, IT, and Accounts as necessary.
  • Undertakes complex debiting tasks.
  • Assists in the creation of comprehensive broking, client, and other necessary documents.
  • Performs technical duties such as data entry, credit control, and chasing subjectivities.
  • Acts as a reference point for staff, providing guidance on creating non-standard client/risk records, processing non-standard debiting requirements, and resolving system-related issues.
  • Stays informed of all regulatory and legal changes impacting the job role.
Skills & Attributes:
  • Proven experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Strong understanding of the Lloyd's and London market.
  • Proficient in IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated competence in technical training as required by industry regulators.
  • In-depth knowledge of FCA regulations related to insurance intermediaries.
  • Exceptional understanding of insurance market processes and procedures, with the ability to audit and check the work of others.
  • High attention to detail and diligence in producing accurate documentation.
  • Effective teamwork skills with the ability to answer queries from less experienced staff members.
  • Excellent prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to pursue professional examinations.
  • Confident communicator with a positive approach to problem-solving. stuck in.
Qualifications:

  • Local country equivalent of GCSE's (or equivalent) including English and Maths essential and or A level Grade A-C (or equivalent)
  • Progression towards gaining professional qualifications is desired, but not essential
