The Senior Technician plays a crucial role in our Financial Lines Operations, focusing on a specific product line while providing extensive support to the broking team.

Working closely with management and colleagues, the Senior Technician oversees the administration and support processes essential to meeting clients' insurance needs. This position ensures adherence to Group policies, meets performance targets, and contributes to business development while delivering outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with senior team members to establish priorities, manage workloads, and mentor junior staff, ensuring both personal and team objectives are achieved.
  • Oversee assigned projects and contribute to additional initiatives as required.
  • Provide relevant management information to the leadership team as necessary.
  • Ensure timely invoicing for clients and monitor policy changes, particularly those affecting invoicing.
  • Investigate and recommend optimal methods for non-routine processing, including system workarounds, in collaboration with management, IT, and Accounts.
  • Handle complex debiting tasks.
  • Assist in the creation of comprehensive broking, client, and other essential documents.
  • Perform technical duties such as data entry, credit control, and follow-up on subjectivities.
  • Serve as a reference point for staff, offering guidance on creating non-standard client/risk records, processing unique debiting requirements, and resolving system-related issues.
  • Stay updated on all regulatory and legal changes impacting the role.
Skills & Attributes:
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar capacity is essential.
  • Strong understanding of the Lloyd's and London insurance markets.
  • Proficient in IT applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Competence in technical training as mandated by industry regulators.
  • Thorough knowledge of FCA regulations relevant to insurance intermediaries.
  • Exceptional grasp of insurance market processes and procedures, with the ability to audit and review the work of others.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and diligence in producing accurate documentation.
  • Effective teamwork abilities, capable of addressing queries from less experienced colleagues.
  • Excellent prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to pursue professional qualifications.
  • Confident communicator with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Qualifications:
  • Local equivalent of GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths is essential, along with A level Grades A-C (or equivalent).
  • Progress towards obtaining professional qualifications is preferred but not mandatory.
