Job Description

Our Engineering Net Zero programme is a key part of our global strategy, focused on embedding carbon reduction in everything we do and integrating our market leading carbon capabilities across our global business.

Your work will enable the entire business to support our clients in the delivery of their ENZ goals and provide staff with the knowledge, tools and processes to drive carbon reduction through all our projects.

We have ambitious goals for our 2024 Programme including:
  • Delivering on our goal to embed proportionate approaches Whole Life Carbon Management at every stage of project delivery.
  • Providing the tools and processes to ensure cost effective carbon reduction is delivered as business as usual.
  • Setting the framework to allow us to track and report carbon emissions avoided on behalf of our clients.
  • Ensuring our teams are equipped with the skills and knowledge required to talk with confidence to clients about carbon.

This role provides an opportunity to enjoy reach and high visibility across the global business, working directly with senior management, shaping how we work with clients to deliver a low-carbon and resilient future.

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to develop their career and help set the strategic direction for our global business. Experience of working on a range of carbon and climate projects, ideally within a consultancy environment would be advantageous, although relevant experience from the construction, transportation or infrastructure sectors may be equally relevant.

You will work as a member of a small team operating across a range geographies, markets and sectors including buildings, transportation and water to develop our digitally enabled carbon led design capability. You'll also engage regularly with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, from Managing Directors to Market Leads as well as Leadership Teams across the regions.

Your purpose:
  • Trusted as a proactive subject matter expert in carbon assessment and management, to work across the global team to deliver the ENZ Programme.
  • Work with the wider ENZ team to develop an industry leading carbon led design capability to ensure whole life carbon management is routinely embedded in project delivery as part of 'business as usual'.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal networks across all key businesses and regions and initiatives.
  • Support the development and delivery of a global learning programme to upskill the next generation of carbon experts within our organisation.
  • Provide strategic carbon management support to major bids and high profile projects to bring global best practice and consistency.

What you can bring?
  • Experience of whole life carbon management in relation to major infrastructure development, the transportation sector and /or water management would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with a range of approaches to carbon measurement and assessment on projects.
  • Understanding and use of carbon accounting methodologies, guidance documents such as PAS 2080:2016, and PAS2060 and knowledge of carbon calculation accounting and life cycle assessment tools such as OneClick LCA, Etool and EC3.
  • Experience of working on a range of carbon and climate projects, ideally within a consultancy environment, although alternative relevant experience will be considered.
  • A good understanding of, and passion for, the Net Zero agenda.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to establish structure and governance while engaging with internal and external stakeholders across the globe.
  • A self-starter able to work proactively and independently.
  • Able to work across multiple workstreams/projects and prioritise workload to ensure successful delivery.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, bringing together people from across the global businesses to develop and share ideas and deliver projects.
