Requirements

You will either hold a qualification meeting the Scottish Social Services Council registration requirements for Housing Support Workers, or have the ability to obtain such a qualification within a specified timescale.

Responsibilities

You will assist the tenants in sheltered housing schemes to enjoy a secure and comfortable environment, and live as independently as possible in their own home.

The Individual

You will have experience in a similar field. You must be dependable and reliable, and able to demonstrate sensitivity and understanding in dealing with elderly/vulnerable people. You should also have a flexible approach to work and possess good communication skills, both written and verbal. You must be able to work as part of a team, on your own initiative, and with minimal supervision. You will be available to work shifts, including some evenings and weekends. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act . The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
