We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Homelessness Warden to join our team at the City of Edinburgh Council. As a key member of our housing support team, you will play a vital role in providing advice and support to individuals experiencing homelessness, ensuring their accommodation is safe, secure, and clean.
Key Responsibilities- Provide guidance and support to residents with complex needs, including those with a history of trauma.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and residents, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Work collaboratively with other agencies to ensure a comprehensive support network for residents.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of housing support plans, ensuring residents' needs are met and their goals are achieved.
- Participate in on-call rosters, providing 24/7 support to residents and responding to emergencies as needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with residents and colleagues.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to de-escalate potentially contentious situations.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of housing support principles and practices, with a commitment to delivering high-quality services.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
