Job summary

To lead on the development and delivery capability strategies and solutions that support Ministry of Defence Police to meet its corporate and departmental work closely with HR colleagues to ensure the provision of services to the organisation.�

To oversee capability, within the MDP, including responsibility for management of attendance, capability, and performance processes, appeals and complex cases, temporary redeployments and associated support. Oversight of administration of Fit to Work medicals and strategic Occupational Health, including contract oversight and medical standards. Provision of all capability related strategic reporting for performance boards and committees.��

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

Key Accountability:

Oversight of the Performance & Attendance Cell managing attendance, capability and performance complex cases, including Regulations 2020, policy/guidance and appeals.��Act as HR Professional panel member for Stage 3 meetings as required.�Responsibility for strategic reporting on PAC and Occupational Health issues, including MDP Board, COO Board and Resource Board.�Responsibility for internal redeployment of non-capable officers requiring work, and redeployments within the wider Civil Service as appropriate.�Oversight of MDP Occupational Health team and the facilitation and administration of fit to work medicals.�Lead for Occupational Health contract issues.�Strategic lead for Employment Tribunals.��MDP Grievances point of contact, including decision making, policy/process review and engagement.�

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
