As our FP&A Manager you'll play a pivotal role in designing and delivering Bupa's global financial planning and forecasting processes. Here you'll be right at the heart of the business and you'll get to see what our future holds.

This role suits an analytically minded yet curious person who wants to be part of a great team and will be able to inform and influence right up to board level.

Accountabilities & Activities
  • Lead and motivate a team of one or more qualified accountants ensuring that the team and activities are aligned with the Group Finance vision.
  • Deliver a high staff satisfaction score through building employee engagement within the team.
  • Support the development of a 'customer service' culture across BG Commercial Finance to ensure that the function builds rapport with, and understanding of, each division and region
  • Act as a change catalyst for change working with the Head of FP&A and members of the wider Commercial Finance team to raise the collective performance of the Business
  • Have a sharp focus on managing and building value added partnerships with customers across all divisions and regions
  • Responsible for ensuring that BG FP&A provides value-added monthly, quarterly, and annual financial insights and financial analysis across the Bupa Global Business designed to provide financial insights to aid decision making to drive business performance.
  • Designing analytical tools and business intelligence leveraging best practice analytics tools
  • Work closely with other Commercial Finance teams by providing proactive ad-hoc analysis of financial data
  • Conduct reviews of regional plans, business cases and periodic financial information
  • Be accountable for delivering FP&A-specific objectives and for contributing to the overall Bupa Global shared objectives
  • Improve processes and decision making by challenging the status quo in a commercial, pragmatic and proactive manner to ensure that FP&A has good visibility of key issues and risks
  • Help define and deliver robust and measurable business cases for global and local projects
Qualifications, Training and Experience

The jobholder will be able to demonstrate:
  • Professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA)
  • Ability to act as a change agent and champion change throughout the team.
  • Proven leadership attributes with the ability to translate and implement strategic vision through people management and development activities.
  • Comprehensive financial planning and analysis knowledge with demonstrable success of operating at a senior level within the financial services sector, ideally in insurance.
  • Strong practical commercial experience with an understanding of Bupa's marketplace.
  • Experience of operating in a regulated environment
  • Experience working with project / programme teams
  • First-hand experience of financial / business planning in a complex and multi-level (i.e. Group / Divisional / Multinational) organisational environment
  • An understanding of process re-engineering and the ability to make improvements to planning processes and to embed the changes throughout an organisation
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and issue resolution abilities
  • Excellent decision making and judgment skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including preparation of executive presentations
  • Advances abilities to interact with and influence at senior levels, particularly at Divisional and Executive level (up to Board).
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously with high quality results
  • Ability to adapt to changing and ambiguous situations
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • An organised and flexible approach to work
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, Anaplan and Oracle databases; experience of working with financial systems an advantage
Key relationships

The Manager - Financial Planning and Analysis must be a forward looking individual with a methodical, enquiring and analytical approach to their work and who is able to demonstrate creative, objective and lateral thinking when working under pressure.

They will be expected to show a high degree of problem solving which will be needed in order to interpret complex technical and operational information and translate their impact to Bupa's insurance and non-insurance businesses.

The role holder will play a significant part in the strategic development of Bupa Global Commercial Finance and its contribution to the business.
