The University of Bristol Business School is seeking to appoint a Chair in Marketing on a full time and open-ended basis.

This is a key appointment within the Business School & you will have an international research profile in the areas of quantitative marketing, marketing analytics, or digital technologies (including Web 3.0 and Industry including Web 3.0 and Industry 4.0). The Chair would support our ambition to develop distinctive contributions in these areas and particularly through interdisciplinary working with STEM disciplines, for example computer science & engineering.

We have a preference for candidates that enjoy working with other disciplines and seek to have impact beyond academia. You will be motivated to engage and inspire our undergraduate and postgraduate students and be expected to undertake a leadership role. Importantly, you will be a good colleague who has the experience & interest to mentor colleagues within the Marketing and Consumption academic group.

What will you be doing?

  • Consistently pursuing high quality research and impact in marketing and/or consumption.
  • Maintaining an international profile/network and attracting external research funding.
  • Mentoring colleagues in the Marketing and Consumption academic group.
  • Ensuring excellent student experience through teaching, marking, supervising at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels and leading curriculum design, development and enhancement.
  • Proactively and visibly promoting and contributing to the school's strategic research ambitions, e.g. in relation to interdisciplinarity.
  • Motivating staff to succeed in their chosen career path.
  • Actively engaging in collaborative opportunities with the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.
  • Demonstrating excellent citizenship, growing academic community, performing a leadership role in the school and contributing to the wider University.

  • You have evidence of excellent citizenship and academic leadership with the ability to motivate and develop others as well as the enthusiasm to develop and implement the school's strategy.
