The Senior Estimator role will ensure that target cost plans are robust, integrated, represent value for money, and are supported by consistent internal and external benchmarking date.

You'll be responsible for:

Producing detailed estimates in a timely and efficient manner, based on bills of quantities/take-off and activity-based costs.Establishing and maintaining relationships with the client, contractors and suppliersAgreeing resourcing levels against programme.Assessing the risk levels associated with the project.Production of the tender settlement book and presenting to the Directors for sign off.Resolving post tender queriesUpdating Mace and Heathrow benchmarking dataManage the sending out of enquiries via AconexManagement of estimating team on larger projects.

You'll need to have:

Sound knowledge of the typical industry contract forms, in particular NEC, and procurement routes.Airport experience would be advantageous but not essential.Ability to build excellent relationships with clients, design teams and stakeholders.Highly numerate, accurate and focused on detail.Cost planning experience.Knowledge of Bluebeam or similar measurement software packages.The role holder should be educated to degree level or equivalent commercial experience.

You'll also have:

MCIOB / RICS qualified or working towardsAbility to measure and provide simple Bills of Quantities for Enquiries.Good negotiation skills.Good working knowledge of building methodology.The capability to be self-reliant – able to work on own initiative.Ability to price for first principals.Strong organisation skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Influencing skills.Effective stakeholder management and great interpersonal skills.The ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise own workloads.Capability to see opportunities, challenge when necessary and passion for improvement.
