The Opportunity:

We are seeking a proactive and innovative Senior MEP Estimating Manager to join our dynamic and expanding team in London, specifically within our Mace MEP services division.

Your role will involve providing commercial guidance in the formulation of precise and verifiable detailed estimates and cost plans. This includes determining the net construction costs and estimating essential components such as staffing and preliminary expenses.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a team in preparing estimates and cost plans for various projects, adhering to established estimating protocols.
  • Being accountable for compiling team schedules and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
  • Coordinating measurement activities, including the preparation of quantity schedules.
  • Managing benchmarking exercises to validate estimates.
  • Overseeing the quality assurance of estimates, ensuring they meet project requirements.
  • Presenting complex estimating and risk modeling data to stakeholders, providing insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of project estimates to key stakeholders.
  • Analyzing quotations as part of the estimate compilation process.
  • Providing senior management and stakeholders with analytical insights, modeling scenarios, and leveraging commercial expertise.
  • Collaborating towards the shared goal of achieving net-zero carbon transitions and proactively managing associated carbon emissions during project execution.
  • Possessing a solid understanding of construction contracts, measurement rules, and cost structures.
  • Exhibiting advanced proficiency in Excel, estimating tools, and building information modeling.
  • Understanding cost breakdown structures (CBS) and work breakdown structures (WBS).
  • Grasping the design process and its outputs.
  • Developing comprehensive cost models, including indirect costs and preliminaries.

Qualifications:

  • A RICS accredited degree in quantity surveying or commercial management.
  • Significant experience in commercial management within the London construction sector.
  • Digital proficiency, with the ability to foster enduring client relationships and lead motivated teams.
  • A background in construction or project management, with a desire to advance your career and explore the opportunities Mace offers.
