Senior Estimator

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Estimator to join our team at Michael Page International Canada Limited in a leadership role. This opportunity is perfect for a skilled professional ready to take on a challenging position in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Project Sourcing and Securing: Assist company leadership in identifying and securing project opportunities that align with the company's goals and objectives.
- Estimating Team Management: Oversee and grow an estimating team in collaboration with regional managers and senior leadership to ensure accurate and timely estimates.
- Estimate Development: Lead the strategy and development of detailed estimates for all design stages, including conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction documents.
- Construction Document Analysis: Analyze construction documents and project requirements to determine the best competitive approaches and ensure accurate pricing.
- Trade Bid Packages: Assemble general conditions estimates for review by senior leadership and develop trade bid packages and strategies to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
- Subcontractor and Material Pricing: Evaluate and compile subcontractor and material pricing for all trade disciplines to ensure accurate estimates.
- Trade Coverage: Ensure adequate trade coverage ahead of tender closings and budget presentations to ensure project success.
- Project Records: Maintain accurate records of past projects and bids for historical analysis and KPI tracking.
- Multi-Trade Takeoffs: Perform multi-trade takeoffs and measurements to ensure accurate estimates.
- Tender Schedules: Coordinate with Operations to produce tender schedules and ensure timely project delivery.
- RFP Responses: Prepare detailed RFP responses in collaboration with senior leadership and the Preconstruction Team.
- Estimating Staff Development: Provide coaching and mentorship to junior and intermediate estimating staff to ensure their growth and development.
- Trade Bid Procurement: Manage the procurement of trade bids and contracts to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
- Change Orders: Assist in pricing and coordinating complex Change Orders, providing support to site management when necessary.
- Trade Scope Review: Lead trade scope review and negotiation meetings with senior leadership and the Operations team.
- Client Engagements: Travel within Ontario for job site visits, pre-bid meetings, and client engagements to ensure strong relationships and project success.
- New Subcontractor Qualification: Seek out and qualify new subcontractors to ensure a strong network of suppliers.
- Education: Relevant diploma or degree in a related field.
- Experience: 10+ years of progressively relevant experience in building construction estimating.
- Estimating Skills: Proven ability to successfully estimate and secure profitable projects ranging up to $70,000,000+.
- Industry Knowledge: Significant knowledge and experience in design-build and construction management methodologies.
- Trade Scope Development: Ability to create detailed, project-specific trade scopes of work.
- Industry Experience: Experience across various industries, including Manufacturing, Industrial, Institutional, Multi-Unit Residential, Healthcare, and Commercial, is an asset.
