General:
The Teaching Assistant is responsible for supporting the Mother Tongue Teacher of Arabic in her duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Teaching Assistant, with the support, direction of and collaboration with the Mother Tongue Arabic teacher, is expected to:
Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom as directed by the Teacher of Arabic to enable the students to fully participate in the Arabic lessonsSupport the Teacher of Arabic in classroom preparation for individualized learningUnder the guidance of the Teacher of Arabic, work with individuals and groups of children in order to contribute to the development and delivery of the curriculumWork collaboratively with the Teacher of Arabic to make reasonable adjustments to lesson plans and teaching activities to ensure all students make progressSpecifically, to help children focus on and finish the work set, such as reading, writing and presenting. Clarify and explain instructions where appropriateProvide extra support for students with educational needs with the support and under the direction of the teacher of ArabicProvide regular feedback about student progress to the Teacher of Arabic. Educational PhilosophySupport the aims and ethos of the school Additional DutiesAttend Wednesday afternoon professional development meetings as required Care & GuidanceTo be familiar with the School's Child Protection Policy and to report concerns to the designated Child Protection Officer To ensure all educational practices are in line with school's health and safety procedures and policies. At ISL London, Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone's responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play.
