The Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven and self-motivated Principal Highway Engineer to join our Structural Highway Maintenance Team at Warwickshire County Council.

The team oversees and delivers in partnership with our term maintenance contractor all planned highway works throughout Warwickshire.

Your Role

Your role will be to design and project manage both highway structural maintenance and capital improvement schemes. You will be expected to manage the delivery within agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards. Identifying technical problems and recommending solutions will also be part of your work.

Additionally, by assisting the Team Manager you will responsible the day to day supervision of a team of Engineers and Technicians providing guidance and support over a wide range of engineering projects. You should have extensive experience in implementing major civil engineering highway works.

Key Requirements

To be successful you'll need good communication skills both verbal and written, planning, and organising and IT skills.

Knowledge of current design and construction standard and specifications and have a strong health & safety awareness.

The role requires the ability to travel across Warwickshire.
