Position Title: Lead Battery Management Systems Controls Engineer

Overview:

In the role of Lead Battery Management Systems Controls Engineer, you will play a crucial part in crafting control algorithms and the software framework for our Intelligent Software Layer, specifically tailored for automotive and mobility sectors. Your responsibilities will encompass defining and reviewing requirements, developing application software, and planning tests (including MIL, SIL, HIL, and DVP), while adhering to the V-Cycle methodology to ensure thorough product development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop sophisticated control functions aimed at serial production.
  • Engage in clean sheet designs, focusing on system and software architecture along with requirement analysis.
  • Oversee software development and testing processes throughout the V-cycle.
  • Conduct prototyping and testing activities.
  • Manage documentation and oversee software release processes.
  • Assist in industrialization efforts, including DV&PV test planning and End-of-Line specifications as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years' experience in battery management controls and software development within the automotive industry, including physics-based battery modeling for estimation and control.
  • Strong background in Control Systems, encompassing system identification, estimation theory (including Kalman Filters), and model predictive control techniques.
  • Proficient in the Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow toolchain.
  • Familiarity with automotive software development practices (e.g., V-cycle, MISRA C/C++, AUTOSAR).
  • Knowledge of ISO26262 Functional Safety and ASPICE processes.
  • Solid understanding of electric vehicle technologies, components, and specifically battery management systems, sensors, and actuators.
