Overview of the Role:
As a prominent member of the Structural Engineering Alliance Group, we are seeking a dedicated Senior Civil Engineering Associate to enhance our dynamic civil engineering team. With over 25 years of experience in the construction sector, JMS Midlands is a well-established entity within the JMS Group, employing a skilled workforce of 50 professionals.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering innovative infrastructure solutions, collaborating with both local and regional teams. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in diverse projects, from initial concept through to detailed design and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of civil engineers across the Midlands, providing guidance and support.
- Utilize advanced design software to create and manage engineering designs.
- Engage with key clients to discuss design and technical solutions, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Oversee project resourcing, delegating tasks effectively and monitoring progress to meet deadlines.
- Support the professional growth of junior engineers, fostering a culture of development.
- Implement and uphold company policies within the team.
- Manage project budgets and resources efficiently.
- Enhance existing client relationships and promote the services of JMS.
- Contribute to achieving revenue targets from both current and prospective clients.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) is essential.
- A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in civil engineering.
- A proven track record in the design of highways and infrastructure projects.
- Experience in cost estimation and project management.
- Familiarity with design tools in a BIM environment.
- Knowledge of industry design standards such as DMRB, Manual for Streets, and NJUG.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to provide effective solutions.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Confident, articulate, and proactive in approach.
- A strong desire to learn and develop professionally with support.
