About the Role

We are seeking a talented Associate Civil Engineer to join our growing civils team, working on a variety of infrastructure projects. As part of our team, you will be involved in delivering highways and infrastructure projects for a diverse range of clients and sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee our team of civil engineers for our Midlands region, providing support where necessary
  • Use the latest design software to create and manage designs
  • Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders
  • Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, delegating work to team members, programming deliverables, and monitoring progress
  • Provide support and guidance to junior staff, fostering their development and progression
  • Implement company policies and ensure adherence across your team
  • Monitor and oversee project budgets and staff resources for projects undertaken
  • Develop existing customer relationships and promote JMS's services
  • Assist in achieving targeted revenues from current and new customers
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Must have Chartered Engineer status (CEng)
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in civil engineering
  • Demonstrable record of involvement in the design of highways and infrastructure projects
  • Proven track record of cost estimation and project management
  • Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment
  • Use of industry design standards, i.e. DMRB; Manual for Streets; NJUG, SSG etc.
  • Problem solver, able to offer solutions to challenges
  • Able to work and collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Confident, articulate, collaborative & proactive
  • Eagerness to learn and to develop your skills and career with training support
