NOC Team Leader - Guildford - 55k - 60k pa

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled NOC Team Leader to lead their Network Operations Centre team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical expertise, particularly at the CCNP level, with extensive experience in SDWAN/WAN and working with OSPF and BGP protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of NOC engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members, ensuring continuous improvement and skill development.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Network Operations Centre, ensuring network availability, performance, and security.
  • Monitor network performance, identify issues, and coordinate timely resolution to minimize downtime and service interruptions.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for network monitoring, incident response, and troubleshooting.
  • Utilize hands-on technical skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, particularly with SDWAN/WAN technologies.
  • Configure and manage network devices, including routers and switches, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Work with OSPF and BGP protocols to maintain efficient and reliable network routing.
  • Lead network infrastructure projects, from planning and design to implementation and maintenance.
  • Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure project alignment with business goals and timelines.
  • Generate and analyse network performance reports, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, processes, and incident reports.

Requirements:

  • CCNP certification is required; additional certifications in SDWAN/WAN technologies are a plus.
  • At least 3 years experience working as an NOC Team Leader or Manager
  • Hands-on experience in network operations, with a focus on SDWAN/WAN.
  • Proven experience working with OSPF and BGP protocols.
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership or mentoring role within a technical team.
  • Strong understanding of network architecture, design, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices (routers, switches, etc.).
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
