Advisory consults with key stakeholders including but not limited to colleagues, clients and markets to promote delivery of technical work products, insight and guidance on difficult, complex and unique reinsurance scenarios.

You are a trusted partner and subject matter experts along each stage of the value chain from requests for proposals and contract structure to claims negotiation and resolution.

  • Apply in depth reinsurance and industry knowledge to function as a trusted advisor with brokers, CSS colleagues, clients and markets.
  • Working on the Guy Carpenter global account.
  • Represent Guy Carpenter in industry and client speaking engagements as requested.
  • Offer company-wide technical expertise, consultation and coaching.
  • Develop relationships with brokers, clients and markets via communication, interaction and delivery of technical consulting services in support of the overall account objective.
  • Deliver outstanding client service and advance Guy Carpenter's reputation.

We will rely on you to:

  • Identify, assess and address potential concerns, problems and risks. Report potential risks to Guy Carpenter Legal and/or Compliance teams (as applicable) and manage the mitigation and removal of that risk.
  • Understand, interpret and present technical information to Senior Management and Guy Carpenter Executive.
  • Demonstrate inclusive collaboration with peers on complex or contentious reinsurance developments.
  • Support and provide training, coaching and guidance within the team and/or department for all aspects of reinsurance service provision and problem solving.
  • Ensure assigned tasks are managed effectively, with clear and concise communication of progress and in a timely manner to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide input for the evolution of the operational model at all levels of the organisation.
  • Promote new process improvement ideas leveraging technology solutions and value-added product solutions.
  • Participate in team and department meetings and activities to share opinions, ideas and knowledge.
  • Maintain strong working relationships and participate in initiatives and/or contribute where required to deliver outcomes.
  • Seek opportunities to increase own understanding and improve the services provided.
  • Develop and deliver technical training on a range of reinsurance matters affecting today's business, including but not limited to claims and contract specific issues and forward-thinking potential risks.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What you need to have:

  • Treaty knowledge and Excess of Loss.
  • In depth Knowledge of pro rata reinsurance.
  • Knowledge of industry standard reinsurance concepts and principles, laws, regulatory requirements and general business trends.
  • Track record of successful client account management, relationship management, engagement and development.
  • Strong verbal and writing skills for the communication of complex claims issues, presentations and negotiations with clients, markets and GC colleagues at all levels.
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of the reinsurance transaction. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications – specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint is required.
