Trainee Finance AssistantExeter, Devon£25,000 per annum + study support

Our client, a highly-esteemed company based within the Southwest, is currently seeking an ambitious Trainee Finance Assistant to join their forward-thinking team, on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is studying towards AAT levels 2 or 3 with a vision of progressing in accountancy. This role will offer first-rate training, as well as exposure to a broad range of finance tasks with a tailored pathway and clear progression plan.

The responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
  • Verify financial data
  • Prepare invoices, expense reports, and payments
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Record bank statements, cash receipts, and payments
  • Assist in preparing monthly accounts and reports
  • Maintain the general ledger and reconcile accounts
  • Support budget preparation and monitoring
  • Manage financial filing systems
  • Assist with audits by providing documentation
  • Support indirect purchasing activities

The candidate:

  • AAT Level 2 or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in a finance department role
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Excel
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication and skills
