About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Trainee Assistant Practitioner to join our Community Eating Disorder Service at Devon Partnership NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient support and education to individuals with eating disorders, adapting approaches to meet individual needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and recognize own limitations and competencies.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Provide evidence-based advice, guidance, and consultancy to patients, families, and professionals.
  • Responsible for delivering specific care packages, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.

Person Specification
  • Must hold or obtain the Care Certificate within the first 3 months of employment.
  • Level 3 QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • GCSE in Maths and English (Grade C or above) or Level 2 Key Skills/Functional Skills in Maths and English.
  • To complete Foundation Degree within 2 years of commencing employment.
  • Previous experience working in mental health and/or eating disorders settings.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Ability to relate to and communicate with people who have communication difficulties.
