Job Title: Orthopaedic Practitioner Trainee
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Orthopaedic Practitioner Trainee to join our team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist casting and post-operative wound care to patients, as well as engaging in the delivery of a same-day casting service to various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist casting and post-operative wound care to patients, predominantly to Trauma & Orthopaedic patients.
- Engage in the delivery of a same-day casting service to Plastics Trauma, Diabetic Podiatry patients, and ED MUA clinics.
- Assist in the delivery of training and education to areas within the Trust who use Plaster of Paris.
- Provide expert patient/carer/staff advice when a cast is applied.
- Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to casting and wound care.
Requirements:
- Must have a strong understanding of casting and wound care principles and practices.
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
