Distance Learning Teaching Fellow with a Specialism in TESOL and Applied Linguistics

Location: Edgbaston campus, University of Birmingham

Hours: 0.3 FTE

Closes: 8th September 2024

The Department of Linguistics and Communication seeks to appoint a 0.3 fte permanent Distance Learning Teaching Fellow with expertise in TESOL and/or Applied Linguistics. The post is available from September 2024. The Teaching Fellow will be required to undertake tutoring, supervision and marking on the Applied Linguistics MA (Distance Learning) and the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages MA (Distance Learning).

These programmes are largely designed for practising teachers of English to speakers of other languages and are followed on a part-time basis over 30 months by students in a wide range of countries. They have been running for over twenty years and currently have around 260 registered students.

The post holder's nominated place of work will be the University of Birmingham's Edgbaston campus so the post holder will need to be based in the UK.
