Direct Response Employment Service are delighted to be supporting a local client of ours in Trowbridge who are seeking a part time finance assistant to join the team.

Ideally we are looking for someone who can come in working roughly 25 hours per week with some flexibility of hybrid working once you have settled in to the role.

Key Duties:

  • Managing sales ledger , prepare and post sales invoices and ensuring receipts are allocated correctly.
  • Sending customer invoices / statements and report weekly on overdue debt, including chasing of payments.
  • Handling invoice queries as and when they arise.
  • Check and match invoices to delivery notes and timesheets.
  • Processing incoming purchase invoices along with checking and reconciling of supplier statements.
  • Processing staff expenses and company credit card expenses.
  • Posting bank transactions into nominal ledger daily and investigating any issues.
  • Manage petty cash.
  • Daily and month end bank reconciliations.
  • prepare monthly schedule of accruals, prepayments and preparation of monthly salaries including reconciling PAYE and pension control accounts using sage.
  • Prepare trial balance and produce the monthly management accounts together with prior year and current business plan comparative figures, ready for discussion with the external accountant.
  • Liaise with the Sales and Marketing Director as required with respect to processing of job quotations ensuring all quotes are followed up and customer feedback recorded
  • General sales, marketing and administration duties as required including answering telephone calls and dealing with visitors to the company's premises ensuring compliance with all health and safety procedures, ensuring risk assessments have been completed as appropriate.

We are looking for a candidate who ideally has good knowledge or experience of working with Sage and has previously worked within an accounts function with experience of nominal codes, raising credit notes, invoicing, producing payments and allocating payments.
