Transmission and Distribution

We have a tremendously challenging programme in front of us in the run up to achieving 2030 net zero targets. New overhead lines, underground cables, substations, battery storage and subsea links are all needed – and quickly. AECOM Transmission and Distribution is currently supporting the network development which will underpin grid modernisation. Are you ready to join a very experienced, talented and growing Control & Protection team, as part of our Transmission & Distribution practice, and develop your skills on transformational work which will make a huge impact towards delivering the energy transition?

Here's what you'll do:

• Project Development/Pre-construction : Develop, refine and optimise P&C solutions including creation of key line diagrams, schematic diagrams, relay settings, SCADA topology diagrams, wiring diagrams, design specifications etc. for various Transmission & Distribution clients.
• Development of specifications: collaboratewith technology specific specialists and external project partners on tender evaluations.
• Technical assessment and design assurance: you'll give design input to the consenting team, converter, civil, marine as a key voice in design meetings.
• Tender specification development: design assurance of tender return documentation, design assurance during tender evaluation, including attending supplier meetings.
• Construction design assurance: reviewing supplier technical designs. Manufacturing assurance audits that manufacturing is following technical design and attending FAT.
• Commissioning: supporting in fault resolution.

Qualifications

Ready to push the limits of what's possible?

Here's what we're looking for:

• An electrical/electronic/power engineering or similar qualification, such as an HNC, HND, BSc/BEng and/or an MSc/Meng.
• Knowledge of transmission (National Grid or SSE) HV design process and related project experience.
• Extensive experience in P&C FEED or detailed design of high voltage installations (132kV to 400kV).
• Good team player and have a client-focused mindset customer facing skills.
• Ability to work flexibly across multiple projects.

The role requires P&C engineering knowledge and skills, with proven experience in the design and specification (including calculation of settings) of equipment used in electrical networks and renewable generation.

You will have strong experience in working with transmission voltages 275kV/400kV and will probably have a consulting, utility, renewable generation or OEM background.
