Level 3 Learning Support Assistant

Are you a reliable and caring individual looking to grow your experience in Special Education? A highly regarded SEND school in Merton is seeking to add a dedicated Level 3 Learning Support Assistant to their team to support pupils with special educational needs.
This full-time role, term time only, offers an ongoing contract with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate. The school provides personalised education for children with a range of moderate and severe learning difficulties, including Autism, Dyslexia, motor coordination difficulties, genetic conditions and PMLD
Key Responsibilities:
Work on a 1:1 and small group basis with pupils aged 2-16
Support and guide pupils to encourage engagement in learning and personal development
Provide nurturing support during break and lunch times
Foster independence and reward progression milestones
De-escalate challenging situations and maintain a calm environment
Ensure consistency in daily routines for pupils
Skills and Attributes:
Ability to relate well to pupils and young adults with additional needs
Experience working with SEN is advantageous, but a positive character fit is most important
Resilient, calm under pressure, and highly motivated
Vigilant in identifying safeguarding concerns and following protocols
