Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and hardworking Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Starfyn Education. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching professionals to support students with a variety of needs, including complex physical disabilities, medical needs, speech and language difficulties, and vision and multi-sensory impairment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer support for students before, during, and after lessons
- Assist students with their understanding and participation in tasks
- Help promote each student's love of learning
- Actively participate in team meetings
- Follow regulations pertaining to Safeguarding
- Support individual needs, including assisting with medical and personal care tasks and physical support where needed
- Work on a 1:1 or group basis to support learning
- Inspire and engage with children with a wide range of additional learning needs
Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a school, college, or provision
- Childcare experience working with children and young people
- Experience working with Multi Disabled visually impaired (MDVI), with working experience with Manual handling, Makaton, or BSL desirable
- Great interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine, caring attitude
- Good communication with fellow peers and support staff
- Creative, enthusiastic, imaginative, and caring approach to children with Special Educational needs & Disabilities
- A willingness to learn and have a genuine enthusiasm to make a difference
