Location: Wimbledon

Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and hardworking Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Starfyn Education. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching professionals to support students with a variety of needs, including complex physical disabilities, medical needs, speech and language difficulties, and vision and multi-sensory impairment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer support for students before, during, and after lessons
  • Assist students with their understanding and participation in tasks
  • Help promote each student's love of learning
  • Actively participate in team meetings
  • Follow regulations pertaining to Safeguarding
  • Support individual needs, including assisting with medical and personal care tasks and physical support where needed
  • Work on a 1:1 or group basis to support learning
  • Inspire and engage with children with a wide range of additional learning needs

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working within a school, college, or provision
  • Childcare experience working with children and young people
  • Experience working with Multi Disabled visually impaired (MDVI), with working experience with Manual handling, Makaton, or BSL desirable
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine, caring attitude
  • Good communication with fellow peers and support staff
  • Creative, enthusiastic, imaginative, and caring approach to children with Special Educational needs & Disabilities
  • A willingness to learn and have a genuine enthusiasm to make a difference
