Role Overview:

As an Academic Support Mentor, your primary responsibility will be to assist students in enhancing their literacy and numeracy capabilities. You will provide focused support and interventions aimed at helping students reach their maximum potential.

This position entails individualized tutoring, small group instruction, and collaboration with educators to create and execute effective learning strategies.

Key Duties:
- Deliver customized assistance to students facing challenges in literacy and numeracy, employing diverse teaching techniques and resources.
- Collaborate with educators to identify students requiring extra support and formulate personalized learning plans.
- Conduct both individual and small group sessions to reinforce classroom instruction and address specific learning obstacles.
- Monitor and assess student progress, offering regular feedback to students, educators, and guardians.
- Aid in the design and execution of intervention initiatives aimed at improving literacy and numeracy skills.
- Foster a supportive and motivating learning atmosphere that encourages student participation and self-assurance.
- Engage in professional development activities to remain informed about educational best practices and resources.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring, particularly in literacy and numeracy.
- Strong grasp of literacy and numeracy principles and effective instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a talent for building relationships with students, educators, and guardians.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting student success.
- Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in utilizing educational technology and resources to enhance learning.
