Commercial Digital are a multi-function delivery team focused on delivery of world class direct-to-consumer and business-to-business solutions within BBC Studios. We are a small agile team delivering big change. We work in a fast-paced environment more akin to a start-up.

Our products include a number of marquee brands including Britbox, and Top Gear as well as a number of market leading B2B products.

THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to join the team to help shape the future of our direct-to-consumer products and subscription offerings.

The proposition is at an early stage and we are looking for someone who will own the prioritization and requirements of critical parts of our product roadmap. They will lead initiatives to help us better serve attract and serve users as well as further our business goals.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience in product management: You have experience working within a product team as a product manager or business analyst, adept at translating objectives and opportunities into coherent product propositions and liaising with the build team to ensure the right outcome.
  • Experience in subscription management: You have worked on product integrations of multiple technical platforms - including subscription management, payment providers, and identity solutions.
  • An objective led mindset: You are comfortable facilitating your immediate stakeholders to design the required product, measure its success and target future improvements
  • Delivery focused: You are comfortable in an Agile environment, working with the wider tech function to create a product that is useful, usable and feasible.
  • Have an inquisitive mind: You want to improve BBC Products and all elements of the business, and you're always looking for new methods to do it, quickly becoming a domain expert.
  • Technically-minded: You like delving to understand the details of a complex systems in order to tackle the solve difficult user problems and you can communicate technical nuances to less technically savvy stakeholders.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE (minimum criteria)
  • Excellent product development skills and product life-cycle management including an understanding of agile methodologyProven experience turning ideas into tangible functional product feature sets
  • Experience of working on direct-to-consumer, international digital media or news products an advantage.
  • Experience working on or across websites, mobile apps, and streaming products an advantage
  • Experience of end-to-end product delivery
  • Experience working directly with cross-functional teams to ship and iterate features
  • Demonstrable experience of making product decisions based on user needs - supported with research, usage data, or predictions of either
  • Ability to coordinate among multiple business, geographically dispersed stakeholders through an ongoing dialog to ensure product is aligned with business needs and activities

Salary: £ £80000 pro-rata (plus London Weighting (£5164) for those with a London office base) depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Contract type: Permanent, Full-Time

Location: Flexible/Hybrid - the successful candidate will need to be able to travel to Television Centre, London once per month, but can be based anywhere in the UK.
