Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our policing client based in Staffordshire for an Accounts Receivable and Banking Officer.

The purpose of this role is to ensure invoices are raised in a timely manner, there is appropriate debt recovery arrangements in place and that transactions on the bank account are appropriately allocated within the ledger

This is a full time, temporary contract until May 2025, and offers a pay rate of £ £15.49 dependent on experience.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Ensure transactions posted to the bank statement are appropriately allocated within the ledger.
  • Have an effective working relationship with the bank to ensure transaction on the bank statement can be investigated in a timely manner.
  • Manage the accounts receivable ledger to ensure there is robustness in all ledger balances.
  • Maintain the sales ledger, ensuring invoices are raised in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Administer the debt collection arrangements in line with the debt collection policy and procedure.
  • Prepare monthly aged debtor reports with appropriate commentary.

Person Specification

  • Previous experience is required in the same role
  • Good Excel skills are required
  • Ability to interpret organisational policy to ensure compliance is maintained.
  • Relevant understanding of a banking system with knowledge of relevant transaction flows.
  • An understanding of a sales ledger and debt recovery procedures.
  • Demonstrate a track record of providing a high quality, customer focused financial service
