The role
Were on the lookout for an Accounts Assistant to join our friendly, fun, and hard working Finance Department. This is a temporary position, for 3 months, with the view to being extended or made permanent, as the role develops.
As a key member of the Transactional team, your main responsibilities will include building excellent relationships with suppliers and the internal business ensuring the smooth running of the purchase ledger processes. From receiving an invoice through to making payment, our aim is to ensure all invoices are checked accurately, thoroughly and in a timely manner to avoid disruption to our customers.
Role requirementsCredit Control across multiple companies within the groupRaising credit notes in ServiceNowChasing of outstanding balances i.e. phone, letter and emailActively pursue direct debit sign up by customersActive analysis of total balance movements and ageing of debtors with recommended actionCash allocation and posting of cash onto SageActive review and chasing of cases with other parts of the business for resolutionContribution to weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts for budget purposesEscalate delinquent accounts to follow suspension processUse of Sage 200, Credit Hound and Microsoft OfficeQuery resolution and escalation following chase procedures and policies.Submitting manual credits and invoices processed from billingDevelop relationships with customers and in particular, key customersDevelop relationships with other parts of the business, particularly Sales and Customer ServiceGeneral account housekeeping.Ensure invoices received are posted daily and invoices are reconciled, checked to POs and agreed buy prices on a monthly basisEnsure expected credit notes are received and processedEnsure month end deadlines are metCompletion of supplier statement reconciliations, in line with month end restraintsVerify bi-weekly payment runs for accuracy and timely completionEscalate problem suppliers with ProcurementResponsible for dealer, recharge invoices and self-billsEnsure bank transactions are posted on a daily basis to assist with cash forecastsMonitor the shared mailboxes within finance to appro ed SLASEnsure Internal IT purchase orders are appro ed, and raised in a timely mannerTake responsibility for checking and obtaining VAT receipts for all transactions on the monthly credit card statementsProcessing expenses claimsInvestigate any debit balances or aged balances on the ledgerFollow purchase ledger controls & suggest improvements where appropriateManaging write offs as per DOA
