London, Greater London, United Kingdom Standard Chartered Full time

Role Responsibilities

As part of our Here for Good brand promise, and as a signatory to the UN Principles of Responsible Banking (UN PRB), we need to ensure a robust understanding, measurement and management of our social, environmental and economic impacts generated through our business activities, operations and philanthropic community programmes. The Group's Global Impact team is responsible for leading this effort. The Senior Manager, Impact Measurement is part of the Group's Global Impact team and responsible for leading impact measurement of Futuremakers by Standard Chartered and contributing to the Group's impact strategy.

Futuremakers by Standard Chartered is our global initiative to tackle inequality and promote greater economic inclusion for disadvantaged young people in our communities. Our aim is to raise USD75 million (through fundraising and Group matching) between 2019 and 2023 to empower the next generation to learn, earn and grow. From 2019 to 2021, the Group contributed USD64 million to Futuremakers programmes, including for COVID-19 economic recovery, through Group donations and fundraising and reached more than 671,000 young people across 41 markets.

In 2020, the Group developed the Futuremakers theory of change and a comprehensive results measurement framework. The results framework is implemented across the Futuremakers initiative, and its implementation supported by a third-party results monitoring partner. The scale of the Group's ambition for measuring impact has increased, resulting in the requirement for this role.

The role holder should have expertise in best practice in monitoring and evaluation, impact measurement, knowledge of economic and social development issues that impact the Group 's markets and experience working with local and global non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and international organisations focused on sustainable development globally.

Impact strategy:

As part of our effort to align with the UN PRB, we are carrying out impact assessments of the business. These assessments will provide a holistic and robust assessment of our business-wide impacts; inform target setting and underpin the bank-wide impact measurement framework. The role holder will be expected to support and contribute to the evolution of the impact strategy, ensuring alignment with the Futuremakers results framework.

Impact - Futuremakers by Standard Chartered

  • Leading coordination of the monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) processes, ensuring continual integration of learnings and best practice, to deliver accurate, timely and meaningful results and drive enhanced impact.
  • Managing the third-party results monitoring partner, ensuring that their expertise is maximised for the benefits of the Group, SCF and Futuremakers participants.

  • Managing the third-party contract including conducting due diligence, risk assessment and ensuring compliance with contract process requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of the Group's global community initiative Futuremakers.

Impact - the Group's Sustainability Aspirations

  • Support the delivery of the Impact measurement framework to track performance and measure the Group's contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals in the Group's markets. This framework will meet the requirement of the UN PRB and enable the Group to understand and manage its impacts.
  • Provide advice and quality assurance of locally developed impact measurement reports, ensuring alignment with the Group's Global Impact Strategy.
  • Collaborate with CABM market teams to develop a series of impact proof-points and to ensure that findings from the impact research are integrated into other Group communication and thought leadership channels.
  • Collaborate with the Sustainability Forum, internal business and functional teams across the Group to share lessons-learned and best practice to inform the development of the Group 's Impact strategy.

Data

  • Oversee effective use of and realise the benefits of the Salesforce data management system to facilitate delivery of the Futuremakers MEL process.
  • Drive continued enhancements of the Salesforce data management system and associated processes to optimise and strengthen the Futuremakers MEL process and outputs.
