About us
The Centre for Electronic Health Records research And Methodology (CEHRAM) is a multidisciplinary research team working on a range of clinical and methodological topics in collaboration with colleagues in London, the UK and around the world. CEHRAM integrates two very active groups: the THINK Research Group and the Primary Care Methodology Research Group.
The Research Department of Primary Care and Population Health (PCPH) is part of the Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care and is co-led by Professor Greta Rait and Professor Kate Walters. The Department's strategic aim is to deliver high-quality teaching in community-based primary care and public health and to undertake a programme of internationally competitive multi-disciplinary research addressing the management and prevention of disease in individuals and populations in areas that are of priority to the health of the public. About the role
The main role of the post will be to lead the data management and analysis of primary care electronic health records to gain insight into statin prescriptions and their association with type-2 diabetes mellitus in people taking antipsychotics.
The main duties and responsibilities are:
• Data management of primary care data (i.e., CPRD and IMRD)
• Analysis of electronic health records of statin and antipsychotic prescription and diabetes development.
Appointment Details:
- This post is available from 01 September 2024 with funding until 31 August 2025.
- We are open to job share or part-time working (0.8 FTE)
- Please note that appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, the initial appointment will be as a Research Assistant on Grade 6B, Spine point 25 (salary £37,332 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.

About you
We are particularly interested in candidates with a PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Epidemiology or related fields, and previous experience managing and analysing large primary care datasets.
The candidate should have an interest in primary care mental health and pharmacoepidemiology, as well as experience in writing reports or papers for publication and in working within a research team.
Some skills are expected such as
1) excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills,
2) good analytic skills, including working experience with statistical software such as Stata/R,
3) ability to manage own workload through effective ordering of priorities and good organisational ability,
4) ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
