What will you be doing?

  • Assist the Haulage Manager in the effective routing/ scheduling of vehicles to provide an effective and efficient service to all facilities in the Merseyside Contract
  • Liaise with Supervisors to ensure adequate provision of drivers
  • Assisting the Haulage Manager in driver management in line with company procedures, including Sickness/ Absence management
  • Assist in ensuring tachograph records are legally compliant for all drivers including driver debriefing and counselling
  • Maintain the Vehicle Maintenance Planner in accordance with company procedures and notify the Haulage Manager of any variances whether planned or unplanned
  • Ensure that vehicle service inspection records are kept up to date and audited on a monthly basis
  • Where necessary, arrange for the hire of agency, casual or temporary drivers
  • Collate daily timesheets and attendance sheets in respect of drivers either employed by the Company or engaged on an agency basis
  • Assist in the preparation of reports on productivity, service success and profitability for Transport Management
  • Ensure all company procedures are followed and reviewed as set out within the VMS and VMR



What are we looking for?

  • International Road Haulage CPC or equivalent qualification
  • Experience within the haulage industry
  • Experience in carrying out accident Investigations
  • Driving licence
