Established 90 years ago, our client is recognised as a market leading contractor throughout the UK and Europe. With a specialism in commercial office and data centers projects, they also work in public, retail, health, education, leisure, residential and pharmaceutical sectors. Their experience ranges from small work contracts circa GBP500k to major projects in excess of GBP100M.

Project:

Their Science and critical environment teams had a very succesful first half of the year and their continued growth has led to them securing one of their biggest projects to date. They are delivering a large new build pharmaceutical and laboratory space in Oxford. Boasting a GBP40m MEP Package they require a Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience delivering projects of at least GBP20m. You will be fully responsible for the commercial and surveying functions on your Projects from Tender Handover to Final Account stage. For this position you will have experience of in pharmacaeuctical, healthcare or critical environment projects working for similar leading companies in these sectors. Key to this role is managing and developing more junior surveyors. You will have a team supporting you on all projects to manage, which is a great part of the business to assist in all aspects. They have detailed processes in place, contract support with lawyers and the chance to work towards a commercial management role.

Role: Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor Oxford Salary GBP80,000 - GBP95,000 + Car Allowance + Travel Expenses + Pension + Healthcare + Bonus

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Candidate will take a lead role in the procurement process and ensure all Sub Contracts are placed correctly with the appropriate Main Contract Terms included
  • You will oversee and manage the production of the variation account and the agreement process with the Client and be responsible for compiling of monthly project cost reports and the presentation of this to the Company Directors
  • An ability to build relationships with your project team and their clients is a must. You will need to be a good communicator, self motivated, and be comfortable with multi-tasking and working to deadlines.
  • Experience with production of cost plans, and full M&E Tenders for projects would be a benefit.
  • As a Senior Surveyor you will be responsible for managing other Surveyors of varying levels and provide support and training in order to develop their abilities and understanding.

The ideal candidate:

  • Will have a minimum of 6 to 8 years experience of running M&E projects.
  • Professionally qualified surveyor or you will hold technical M or E qualifications and be able to demonstrate appropriate surveying experience in a similar role
