Contract: JCT Design and Build (2 Stage)
Duration: Circa 3 Years

elite s.s.s are seeking an exceptional Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead a prestigious GBP40M refurbishment project of a Grade II listed manor house in the picturesque Cotswolds. This high-profile project encompasses the phased renovation and updating of 14 outbuildings, including cottages and barns, and culminates in the full structural refurbishment of the main house.

The successful candidate will work alongside a globally renowned architect and manage the project in close collaboration with an ultra high net worth private client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Quantity Surveying function for the entire project, ensuring financial and contractual control over the duration of the refurbishment.
  • Manage the two-stage JCT Design and Build contract, ensuring all phases are completed on time and within budget.
  • Oversee cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the project, including regular financial reporting to the client.
  • Conduct risk management and value engineering to maximize project efficiency and value.
  • Liaise closely with the client, architect, and other key stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and clear communication.
  • Manage procurement processes and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure all works comply with statutory regulations, industry standards, and the specific requirements of a Grade II listed building.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a proven track record of delivering high-end residential projects, particularly refurbishments of listed buildings.
  • In-depth knowledge of JCT Design and Build contracts and their application in complex, phased projects.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in cost planning, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at the highest levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate with various teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional membership with RICS or equivalent is preferred.
