About the role

The University of Sussex is seeking to make an appointment to the role of Senior Contracts Manager to lead on all contractual obligations under the SEF TFM Agreement and the RDP Agreement for East & West Slope Developments.

This role will form a critical part of our new Estates and Facilities Management Services, as it will oversee parts of the newly embedded Intelligent Client function in the University EFM Team and steer and effectively manage the delivery of services by our provider and partner organisations.

The campus is 95 hectares and has over 100 buildings, comprising of academic and residential living spaces, social, study and entertainment spaces, as well as extensive external realm.

We need a professional who is able to navigate between Strategic and Tactical level decision making and engagement, that ensures effective and sustainable Operational delivery by the Service Providers own Senior Management and Delivery Teams.

There will be direct reports but at this time the future structure is being finalised. But it is anticipated that at least 3 posts will report into this role. The main areas or responsibility being the provision of policy arrangements to the Service Provider, the auditing of delivery against contractual obligations and the measurement of performance, with the role holder taking up the post of Chair to the Performance & Contracts Management Board.

The role holder will report directly to the Head of Service Delivery and this post forms part of an essential and critical management function within the Estates Division.
