You will be responsible for heading up the Cyber Security team responsible for safeguarding the digital networks, devices, and data from unauthorised access or unintended activities.

The Head of Cyber will lead this team, collaborating closely with the IT Operations Director to define and execute the cyber security strategy and roadmap.


Key Responsibilities:
Manage, mentor, and support the Cyber Security team.
Maintain overall responsibility for cyber security across the organization.
Work with IT Management to define and implement the cyber security strategy and roadmap.

Collaborate with other IT teams to evaluate and implement new technologies, enhancing the cyber security posture for both internal and customer-facing platforms.

Proactively identify cyber security deficiencies and opportunities.

Participate in IT strategy planning activities, bringing current knowledge and future vision of cyber security to align with business needs.

Analyse and predict trends, developing long-range plans to maintain the effectiveness of the cyber security strategies.
Manage a penetration testing and vulnerability assessment program.
Contribute to the design and build of cloud-based infrastructure and architecture, ensuring optimization from a cyber security perspective.

Contribute to the design and build of customer-facing platforms and applications, working closely with software development teams to ensure cyber security best practices throughout the SDLC.Create and maintain documentation related to the use of cyber security technology in the organization.


Requirements:
Extensive knowledge of cyber security with a strong technical background.
Experience in people management.

Detailed understanding of application security and experience working with software development teams, providing support and advice on best practices for maintaining security.

Significant experience with endpoint detection and response (EDR) and network detection and response (NDR) technologies.

Detailed knowledge of Information Security standards, including Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus, and ISO27001.Good understanding of Linux and database technologies such as Ubuntu, Apache, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Nginx, Mercurial, and Git.

Good understanding of cyber security practices related to cloud hosting, preferably with experience in AWS.Good understanding of open source risk management using enterprise management tools.

Positive attitude and high degree of enthusiasm.
Understanding of Service Management disciplines, ideally using the ITIL framework.
Ability to stay updated with technology trends and comprehend key technical drivers in the industry.
