Cyber Security Team Leader

Position – Team Leader – Cyber Security & Infrastructure
Location – Hybrid: London (3 days on-site), Remote (2 days)
Compensation – £51,088 plus Benefits
Primary Objective:
The aim of this role is to enhance and sustain the Cyber Security framework, in alignment with the overarching Information Security strategy, ensuring the organization remains protected against cyber threats and meets necessary compliance standards.
Core Responsibilities:
This is a hands-on technical position responsible for the advancement and management of the Infrastructure cyber security framework.
1) Technical Guidance
· Evaluate technical solutions to safeguard against and reduce security risks.
· Develop, maintain, and test recovery protocols for all essential systems.
· Implement and supervise the surveillance of both on-premise and cloud-based IT systems, networks, and applications.
· Create and execute a schedule of independent security evaluations, including penetration testing, compliance checks, and ensure any identified deficiencies are rectified.
· Collaborate with external partners and information security entities such as regulatory bodies to enhance cyber security standards.
· Oversee security assessments of third-party vendors and systems.
· Manage the annual accreditation processes for Cyber Essentials, GovAssure, and ISO27001.
· Stay informed about emerging security trends, risks, new regulations, and security technologies.
· Foster cyber security awareness throughout the organization by developing and implementing a training program for employees at all levels.
· Generate regular security reports for the Information Security Leadership team.
2) Operational & Project Assistance
· Investigate suspected and confirmed security incidents, providing recommendations and ensuring corrective actions are taken.
· Serve as the Incident Manager during cyber security events or threats, maintaining ongoing communication with the Information Security Leadership.
Additional Responsibilities:
The Information Security department is undergoing significant systematic and structural transformations to address evolving demands from various external and internal sources. These changes are driven by regulatory requirements, industry standards, and the increasing reliance on technology for service delivery across various functions.
As the industry shifts towards cloud-based services, this role will require adaptability to new technologies and organizational changes to support the business's progressive and consistent evolution.
The individual in this position is expected to perform their duties with minimal oversight, escalating issues to the Head of Technical Services as necessary.
