This role actively contributes to the definition of the Consumer financial control framework and advise business owners on the most appropriate risk mitigation, control designs and their operations, improvements and optimisation strategy.


What you'll be doing
Maintain an effective Internal Control Environment

Advise on control design.

Pro-actively monitor and assess potential changes and impacts on compliance and control environment.


Advise business owners how to ensure that the company maintains compliance obligations; improves the control environment; and manage risks appropriately.

Ensure control documentation is updated as required.


Manage control assessment across Consumer (management entity) and legal entities EE Ltd, BT plc (Consumer) and Plusnet, reporting progress, managing issues and escalations in order to ensure continued awareness, operation, ownership and risk mitigation.

Arrange and obtain assurance over third party reporting of control environments, via Statement of Control reports.

Deliver improvements to the Consumer control framework that ensure continued adherence to BT standards and accounting requirements.

Communicate issues, findings and opportunities


Produce timely and accurate reporting on key risk, issues and opportunities to senior management, Group Financial Controlling team and relevant steering groups as required.

Impact assess Business Continuity scenarios and update of contingency plans

Risk Management

Promote and support the identification, assessment and reporting of financial risks. Advise management in the development of pragmatic plans to mitigate risks.

Monitor progress in delivering mitigations.

Monitor, interpret and document control, regulatory and compliance requirements impacting on company performance. Approvals & Authority

Maintaining segration of duties, financial approvers and delegation of authorities in legacy SAP system

Skills and Experience

  • Professional audit/accountancy accreditation or equivalent by experience
  • Good understanding of IT systems (SAP GRC , ARIS would be beneficial)
