Junior Locally Employed Doctor in Vascular Surgery

We are looking for a CT1-2 level Doctor to join our team to support our busy vascular service, with an educational focus.
To provide a clinical service in Vascular Surgery at CT1-2 level, working closely with the Specialty Registrars, Clinical Fellows and Foundation doctors under the supervision of the Consultants. Thepost holder will be accountable to the Clinical Director Mr Jonathan Ghosh
Main duties of the job
This post provides an excellent opportunity for the successful candidates to gain generalised vascular surgery experience in a peri-MRCS role, involving ward care, access to theatre and outpatient clinics. This post would suit someone preparing for the MRCS with a desire to pursue vascular surgery as a career, but also those considering other surgical careers, radiology or medical specialties such as geriatrics, renal medicine or diabetes.
The post holder will participate in ward rounds, support junior members of the team and assist the on-call registrar in seeing emergency referrals. They will assist and operate on patients in elective and emergency settings, alongside the consultant. They will be involved in the assessment, investigation and treatment of vascular patients in the outpatient department, usually working alongside the consultant. CT1-2 doctors are rotated into theatre, ward, on-call and clinic sessions to ensure equitable access.
