Job Summary

The Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced ENT Specialist to join our team as a Senior Locally Employed Doctor in Rhinology. This is a 12-month fixed-term post that offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our Consultants, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to provide a clinical service in ENT, specializing in the delivery of the Rhinology Service across Manchester Royal Infirmary and University Hospital South Manchester.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide a clinical service in ENT, specializing in the delivery of the Rhinology Service across Manchester Royal Infirmary and University Hospital South Manchester.
  • Work closely with Consultants, nursing staff, allied health professionals, and the wider ENT team to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Conduct outpatient clinics (4 per week), theatres (4 sessions per week), research/CPD (2 sessions per week), and ward duties.
  • Develop and implement audit projects to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
  • Contribute to teaching and training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of junior staff.
  • Participate in research and publications to advance the field of ENT and Rhinology.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and patient care.

Requirements

  • Medical Degree and full registration with a license to practice with the General Medical Council.
  • At least four years of postgraduate training, with at least two years in an ENT specialty training program or equivalent.
  • MRCS or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of audit and research/CPD.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and team working skills.

Working Arrangements

This is a 12-month fixed-term post, and the successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the Consultants, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to deliver high-quality patient care. The post will involve working in a fast-paced environment, and the successful candidate will be expected to be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the service.
