Job Title: Senior Locally Employed Doctor in Rhinology

Job Summary:

The Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced ENT specialist to join our team as a Senior Locally Employed Doctor in Rhinology. The successful candidate will provide a clinical service in ENT, specialising in the delivery of the Rhinology Service across Manchester Royal Infirmary and University Hospital South Manchester.

Main Duties:

  • Provide a clinical service in ENT, specialising in the delivery of the Rhinology Service
  • Work closely with Consultants, nursing staff, allied health professionals, and the wider ENT team
  • Conduct outpatient clinics (4 per week)
  • Participate in theatres (4 sessions per week)
  • Contribute to research and CPD (2 sessions per week)
  • Perform ward duties
  • Manage administrative tasks
  • Engage in teaching and audit

Requirements:

  • Medical Degree
  • Four years postgraduate training, with at least two years in an ENT specialty training program or equivalent
  • MRCS or equivalent
  • Experience of audit
  • Distinctions or prizes during undergraduate training
  • Research and publications
  • Organisation, communication, and team working skills
  • Full registration with a licence to practice with the General Medical Council

Working Environment:

The ENT Department at the Central site employs 13 consultants, while the UHSM site employs 7 consultants to provide a general hospital ENT service for the population of Manchester as well as tertiary services in the subspecialties of laryngology, otology, hearing implants, rhinology, and head and neck cancer surgery.
