THE JOB

Are you passionate about dance and electronic music and have a knack for discovering talented artists? The Material Music artist roster includes Bondax, Ekkah, Dan Whitlam, Capo Lee, Because of Art, Subtrax, Alinka, Leena Punks, , Joseph Ashworth, and many more.

As the A&R and Label Manager, you will play a pivotal role in scouting, signing, and developing new talent while overseeing the day-to-day operations of our labels. If you're ready to dive into the vibrant and varied worlds of our label roster then this is the role for you.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Location: Preferably live in/near London, or able to travel to London easily. Candidate has to be available to work in the office, full time remote is sadly not an option.
  • Passion: Strong passion for dance and electronic music and a deep understanding of the genres / scene.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 year's experience at a music company, ideally in an A&R position – record label, management company or music publisher with a proven track record in working / signing recording artists.
  • Contacts: A wide range of music industry contacts from artists to media.
  • Multi-tasker: Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
  • Management: Experience managing deadlines, individuals or teams.
  • Team Player: A strong team player and strong communicator both written and verbally who enjoys being across lots of different projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain relationships with industry contacts including artists, managers, and other labels.
  • Supporting the writing, recording, production, mixing, and mastering process for new and existing artists.
  • Commissioning remixes and additional content.
  • Working with our new and existing artists to develop a clearly defined long-term vision for success.
  • Monitor and analyse social media metrics to make data-driven decisions.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and developments to capitalize on new opportunities.
  • Scout and identify emerging and established artists in the dance and electronic music scene.
  • Negotiate and confirm contract terms with artists and management teams
  • Manage the release schedule and support promotional campaigns for new music releases with creative ideas and conception.
  • Collaborate with artists to develop their sound and enhance their fan bases.
  • Oversee the distribution of music across various platforms, ensuring timely and effective release strategies.
  • Other roles and responsibilities which may arise which would reasonably be expected of the position.
