The role and responsibilities include:


  • Lead a team of BI Developers and analysts to develop and maintain data models, create data pipelines, and maintain data integrity in the analytics data ecosystem
  • Represent the analytics department in major cross-functional initiatives.
  • Supervise the learning, development, and career progress of the Business Intelligence team.
  • Manage tools and methods for documenting major data sources.
  • Conduct industry research and monitor trends in Business Intelligence domain to help establish the strategic direction and practices of the team.
  • Interact with stakeholders to gather and negotiate requirements, and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Lead strategic projects with cross-functional team.
  • Own and monitor KPIs across the customer lifecycle with a focus on credit and profitability performance including but not limited to; through-the-door application quality, first payment defaults, score distributions, merchant quality, pricing, representative APRs, and collections rates.
  • Deliver reports proactively and clearly deliver insights and recommendations to enhance the current processes and tools in place to drive revenue, efficiencies, cost savings and a better customer outcome where possible.
  • Solve real business problems for Snap. Ask questions about the data and our processes and deliver solutions that positively influence them.
  • Research and create credit change initiatives as required, for example, embedding additional data sources like a second bureau, current account API, or implementing a new challenger credit model methodology.
  • Build strong relationships across the UK business and US Data Science team.


To be successful in the role of a Business Intelligence Manager we require the following skills and experience:


  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) or practical experience (or PhD preferred) in a technical field such as computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering, etc.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: analytics engineering, data model development, software development, data engineering, BI engineering
  • Experience with structured and unstructured data
  • Experience with AWS cloud services such as EC2 and S3
  • Experience with developing and maintaining data pipelines for any of the following programs: SalesForce, Tableau, InContact, Amplitude or other click-stream data source, HubSpot
  • Exceptional communication skills; both verbal and written.
  • Strong background in Python
  • Strong background in SQL
  • Deep knowledge of Data Modelling and best practices
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of a variety of data sources
  • Strong knowledge of data model development best practices
  • Familiarity with common computing environment (e.g. Linux, Shell Scripting)
  • Demonstrated ability to execute on a strategic visio
