Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Safety Procedure Author with a background in Nuclear to be engaged on a permanent basis in Helensburgh, Scotland.
Key Responsibilities:
Ability to work independently, taking ownership for delivery in terms of scheduling and status reporting to meet operational requirements.
Ensure timely development and stakeholder acceptance of procedures, ensuring they are consistent with current good practice and legislative/regulatory requirements.
Ensure efficient use of resources in the development of procedures e.g., developing them to the right level of detail at the right time and avoiding potential re-work as designs and implementation methodology matures.
Conduct reviews of risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues.
Provide technical support to staff on nuclear safety practices.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and stakeholders to enhance safety measures.Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Professional certification in nuclear safety (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Nuclear Safety Professional) is desirable.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in nuclear safety, regulatory compliance, or a related field.
Excellent written communication and technical authoring skills.
Strong knowledge of nuclear safety regulations, authorising conditions and industry standards.Skills and Competencies:
Analytical thinking and technical problem-solving.
Proficiency in safety analysis software and tools desirable.
Familiarity with nuclear facility operations and safety systems.
Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements.
Effective project management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
