Job Description

Job Title: Principal Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Assystem. As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the technical capability of our Design Authority (DA) and providing expertise in electrical design, installation, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Excellence:
    • Develop and assess design packages to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Reliability & Operations:
    • Define and implement reliability and operational constraints to ensure efficient and safe operation of electrical systems.
  • Maintenance Procedures:
    • Assess and improve work control procedures for maintenance activities to minimize downtime and ensure optimal system performance.
  • Design & Material State:
    • Evaluate design, material state, and ageing mechanisms to ensure the integrity and reliability of electrical systems.
  • Safety & Security:
    • Promote a safety and security culture within the team and ensure that all work activities are conducted in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.
    • Ensure that contract outputs meet safety requirements and are compliant with industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience in electrical design, installation, and maintenance, with a strong understanding of industry standards and regulations.
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety and security protocols, with the ability to promote a safety culture within the team.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess conditions and ageing mechanisms to ensure the integrity and reliability of electrical systems.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and teams.
  • Project Management: Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage projects and deliver results on time.

Qualifications:

  • Essential: HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Desirable: Incorporated Engineer status or equivalent experience and standing.
