Job Description

Job Title: Principal Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:

Assystem is a leading international company specializing in accelerating the energy transition worldwide. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support our Design Authority (DA) team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Excellence:
    • Develop and assess design packages for electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Reliability & Operations:
    • Define and implement reliability and operational constraints for electrical systems.
  • Maintenance Procedures:
    • Assess and improve work control procedures for electrical maintenance.
  • Design & Material State:
    • Evaluate design, material state, and ageing mechanisms for electrical infrastructure.
  • Safety & Security:
    • Promote a safety and security culture within the team.
    • Ensure contract outputs meet safety requirements.

Requirements:

  • Technical Expertise: Broad experience in electrical design and maintenance, with knowledge of HV/MV and LV distribution, protection systems, C&I systems, and electrical machines.
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety and security protocols in high-hazard industries.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to assess conditions and ageing mechanisms for electrical infrastructure.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Project Management: Proven track record of managing projects and delivering on time.

Qualifications:

  • Essential: HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Detailed Knowledge: Design Intent for Electrical Infrastructure in the nuclear or similar industry.

Desirable: Incorporated Engineer status or equivalent experience and standing, or degree or equivalent qualifications and experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
