Why Join KPMG as a Senior HR Business Partner

Acting as the primary point of contact for assigned internal client group (Coverage, PGL, Function or a subset within one of these areas: “internal client”), managing and delivering an outstanding HR business service to clients. Also acts as a key facilitator and enabler of the matrixed organisation and a driver of change.

What will you be doing?

  • Resolve straightforward and complex people issues with a focus on commercially pragmatic outcomes, escalating as necessary.
  • Undertake risk assessments in conjunction with the Employment Law Advisory Team (ELAT) and escalate issues to a Principal Associate level before involving relevant CoEs or HR Business Partners.
  • Demonstrate a high level of competency in applying employment law, staying updated with changes and legal advancements.
  • Support People Leaders with HR policy and process implementation, such as Intelligent Working requests and relocations.
  • Advise on disciplinary, grievance, and performance issues, including exam training failures.
  • Design and draft non-standard correspondence as required.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of absence management, providing advice to performance managers, People Leaders, and partners on dealing with long-term or persistent absences, including OH referrals. Coach performance managers and People Leaders on return-to-work conversations.
  • Serve as the expert point of contact for performance management issues, supporting the implementation of RPP (Rapid Performance Planning) development plans and advising on how to handle typical and atypical RPP/performance coaching meetings.
  • Coach and support performance managers and People Leaders on the performance management process and delivering difficult messages.
  • Educate the business on managing redundancies and forced exits correctly.

What will you need to do it?

  • Strong HR knowledge (CIPD qualification or equivalent)
  • Demonstrable experience in Employee Relations, preferably within a fast-moving and responsive HR team.
  • Project orientated and able to both create and work to detailed project plans
  • Honed collaboration skills, understanding how to operate in a complex, matrixed organisation
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills and strong delivery focus
