About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting students across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 who require additional help with their SEMH needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about making a significant difference in the lives of children with varying social and emotional needs.
Application Requirements:
• Proven experience working with children with SEMH needs, ideally within a school setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs, Psychology, or a related field are desirable but not essential.
• A compassionate and patient approach to working with children with emotional and behavioral difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to manage their emotions and behavior, and fostering a positive and productive learning environment.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to develop and implement individualised learning plans and strategies.
• Keep detailed records of student progress and behavior, and report regularly to teachers and parents to ensure a coordinated approach to each child’s development.
• Assist in the delivery of targeted interventions and support programmes designed to address specific SEMH needs.
